What is it like to live in London? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is very expensive city to live for a student . I would strongly recommend concidering to choose other england universities to go to , rather choose London- one of the bussiest cities I've lived in a world- unless your erasmus grant would cover acommodation and part of your expenses.

What is the student lifestyle like in London?

Most of the students are working part - time but I know some of them working 40 hours / week which is not an appropriate work load for a student. What about student activities - I think erasmus are making loads of trips to explore UK- dont really know many activities that would be interesting for me except university tennis which you can practise if you book tennis court in advance.

How much does it cost to live in London?

Well, I used to share the house with one couple and for my room I used to pay £400- bills icluded

Is it difficult to find accommodation in London? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not difficult especially if student does not mind to share the acommodation with somebody they dont know... But for 4-5 monts (one semester erasmus) I think you can only find student acommodation which is for some reason more expensive ~450-500 .

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Not much things to like about food in London- I do like italian- spanish cuicine , which is I guess the most popular in London...but I prefer to cook myself since the food products are not that expensive.

What places would you recommend visiting in London?

Actually there are many many places to visit- all the monuments such as Big Ben with Westminister , Buckingham palace, London eye , Madam Tussaud, area of Soho and Covent garden- probably the most antique areas in London , which you will find very attractive.

Is it good to eat out in London? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I used to eat in my restaurant since I had 50% discount - but to be honest, I could not recommend anything else - matybe Slug & Lettuce and All Bar One in Canary wharf

Is the nightlife good in London? Where is good to go?

I do like Ministry of sound, which is 2 different floors club- house musoc and R&B - unfortunately , last time I forgot to book the tickets online so had to wait in the que for up to 2 hours! It is usually bussy in all the night clubs and there is only one way of coming back from the club to home- night busses , unless you dont mind paying a fortune £20-25 for taxi.

What advice would you give future students heading to London?

Start to save your money now and maybe London will be the past experience in your life !
See you there!
