Experience in London, UK by Lucila
What do you think of London to live in? Do you recommend it? How is it?
London is a beautiful city, multicultural and marvellous, with many nice and different areas.
How is the student life in London?
Fantastic, as it offers the possibility to meet people from all over the world.
How much does it cost to live in London?
A lot, it's a very expensive city. The best thing to do is to live near to where you study otherwise you will spend all day on the tube, trains and buses. If you want to live in a nice, pretty and central area, it costs you an arm and a leg.
Did it cost you to find accommodation in London? Can you give any advice?
Few years back I had no problem, I stayed in student residences, or in families' homes. However, now it's totally different, it's much more difficult to find a suitable place in a good area. The best thing to do is to sign up to sites like these, so you can find some advice and sometimes, thanks to these pages, find something.
How is the country's food? What are your favourite dishes?
The food, like in all places is totally international, with a fusion of many different cultures. I like Indian, Pakistani and Thai food... there is everything that you may want and at different prices, but as usual the best food is the most expensive.
What sites do you recommend to visit in London?
Museums, Buckingham palace, Comen garden, Candente marketing, the Big Ben, Jade park, going on the Thames by boat, the commercial areas, Viven garden, Carnaby street, I give up, there's many... I could never finish listing them.
And to eat in London? Can you name your favourite locations?
The Spanish chain Iberica...
