What attracts you to living in London? Do you recommend it? What is it like?

London seems like a great place to live in, but I don't think that it's a city for everyone. If you like living in a place where you are surrounded by people and where life moves at a frantic pace, it's the city for you. But if, on the other hand, you prefer a calmer pace of life, I don't think you will feel too comfortable in a city like London.

What is student life like in London?

Student life is multicultural, like that in London as a whole.

How much does it cost to live in London?

Living in London, compared to Spain, is very expensive. The cheapest rent rates cost a minimum of £350 a month (some 500€), and this would be for a single-bed room in zone 3 (see a map of the London Underground). If you search for a room in zone 2, you can find one for £500 a month (700€), and, in zone 1, the prices rise to £800 a month (1200€). Public transport is also expensive (some 120€ a month) and food is similarly priced to how it is in Spain. Mobile phone tariffs are cheap, and you also have a load of offers to choose from. The most popular company is Giffgaff, although there are others like O2, Three and Lebara.

Was it difficult for you to find accommodation in London? Can you give any advice?

In order to find accommodation, you first have to decide which area of the city appeals to you most. The most important thing to take into consideration, however, is that you won't find any bargains in London; if you do find one, it's probably a scam. Also, if you want to rent it whilst you're still in Spain, make sure you use an estate agent.

Which places do you recommend visiting in London?

Brick Lane Market on Sundays.

Is there any advice that you want to give to future students in London?

Come full of excitement and anticipation to have fun and mature!
