Experience in Lodz, Poland by Tessa
What is it like to live in Lodz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city of Lodz is a great place, especially for students. During the day it's quite peaceful, so you can study in many cafes located in the city centre. Occasional events, such as food festivals and concerts will fill out your free time. If you like to party the night life of Lodz will not disappoint you. There are many bars and clubs, some of which are dedicated especially to students. The city has a wide variety of restaurants, including the ones with delicious traditional Polish dishes.
What is the student lifestyle like in Lodz?
As the universities' campuses are located in different parts of the city, you get a chance to experience a variety of urban landscapes. The city transport will tale you everywhere you want to go. Many students can be spotted in cafes, studying or spending free time with friends. Towards night time most of students pass their time either in bars or clubs. If you are not fond of dancing, there is a lot of bars where you can order a drink and rent a board game to have fun with your friends.
How much does it cost to live in Lodz?
The prices in Lodz aren to high. The food is very affordable. Prices in restaurants can be higher depending on the location and luxury, but you can often find delicious meals for less than 25 zloty. The apartments, especially in the city center, are pretty expensive, so I would recommend finding a few roommates to split the expenses or asking your university for advice. Other than that it is very affordable to live here.
