Why did you choose to go to Lodz, Poland?
Because I was told it was a good destination for Erasmus.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
12 months, €1000.
What is the student lifestyle like in Lodz?
Regular.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Lodz to other students?
Yes.
What is the food like?
It is OK. Polish type. Comparing with Portuguese is bad but you can find decent places to eat.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lodz?
Nope. I had University dorms prearranged.
How much does it cost to live in Lodz?
About 80% of what in Portugal costs. With €500 you can pay for accommodation (assuming €150) plus food plus transports plus party.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Language courses are available but learning Polish is a hell. Don't expect easiness here.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lodz from your city?
Plane low cost.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lodz?
- Kaliska
- Futurysta
- Piotrkowska street
- Lumumby
- Fabryka Krawatow (guess it's closed now)
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
- Manufaktura
- Cinema museum related to Roman Polanski
- Not much more...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lodz in the future?
Go there. Live the real deal. The place to live with and not to live in. Good experience. Don't go there for the view but for the experience.

Boas Fábio, escreveste na tua experiencia que a melhor maneira de viajar para lodz é de aviao low cost mas diretamente de portugal nao há low cost pra lodz penso eu. por isso queria saber se fizeste alguma escala ou viajaste até alguma cidade (varsovia, berlin...) e depois foste de comboio. Obrigado desde ja pela atençao.
