Why did you choose to go to Lodz, Poland?

I chose Lodz because it was in the center of Poland and for its history.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is a Marketing Bachelor during 3 years but I stay only for the summer semester. I receive 500€ from my school in Belgium.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lodz?

The student lifestyle is easy and you meet a lot of people from different countries thanks to the Erasmus programme.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lodz to other students?

Yes, of course! If you are an Erasmus, the ESN staff will help you to have the perfect stay and enjoy your life.

What is the food like?

A lot of meat. Nothing is expensive.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lodz?

No. Some websites as this one (Noclegi Łódź) propose some good flats (sometimes expensive if you are alone) but you can share it with people easily.

How much does it cost to live in Lodz?

Around 120€ for the food and it depends how much you spend in parties...

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

For me, it's hard because it's totally different from my language (French).

Some Polish courses are given for Erasmus people.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lodz from your city?

Plane to Warsaw and then Modlin Bus (cheapest travel).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lodz?

Nightclubs like Bedroom, Kokoo, Spinka (for students), and also Lordi's bar and club. The best meeting for Erasmus is the pub Biblioteka.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lodz?

Around the Manufaktura (place with a lot of shops), you have restaurants from different countries (The Mexican, Browar de Brasil... ).

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The parks are beautiful (one of them is the biggest park in Europe), Museums and also The Jewish cemetery.

Enjoy your life in Lodz, it's perfect to discover Poland and the Polish culture!
