Experience in Lleida, Spain by Marta
What do you think about living in Lleida? Do you recommend it? What is it like?
It's a very quiet city.
How is the student atmosphere in Lleida?
Very warm.
How much does it cost to live in Lleida?
Around €300/month (rent + bills/expenses + food).
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Lleida? Can you give any piece of advice?
No. There are many webpages offering flats for students.
I recommend to rent a private flat because if you rent one through an estate agency, it's more expensive.
What about national food? What are your favourite dishes?
Very good. One of the most characteristic dishes is 'cassolada' (a stew made out of potatoes and vegetables with pork fat and ribs). Despite Lleida is the only province of all Catalonia without coast, many of its fish dishes come from river fishing.
What places do you recommend to visit in Lleida?
'La Seu Villa', 'El Castell de Lleida', the Cathedral, 'Els Camps Elisis', 'La Mitjana', the promenade, and the main square.
And for eating out in Lleida? Can you mention your favourite places?
'La Tagliatella'.
What places do you recommend to go out in Lleida?
Pubs (free small discos) in the area 'Ricardo Vinyes' and the disco 'Nuit' or 'River'.
