Why did you choose to go to Lérida, España?

I didn't choose it, but I'm really happy about being here!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for 6 months. I receive 230 euros from de European Union every month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lérida?

It's really "easy" and relaxed. There are lots of bars to have breakfast or lunch at a very cheap price. There is a river, that is so nice. There are lots of parties on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lérida to other students?

Yes, of course! It's very cheap and easy to live here. The University is fantastic, the Erasmus Coordinators (Juan Carles and his colleague) are always ready to answer every question kindly and clearly.

What is the food like?

Well, the food isn't anything special (yes, I'm Italian! eheheh!), but there are lots of things to try, like snails (but I can't try them!).

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lérida?

It wasn't hard to find accommodation: the university can help you to find it, there is an office where you can find announcements of people that are renting a flat, or of students that want to share it with other students. There is also a group on Facebook and the group of the incoming students of the university.

How much does it cost to live in Lérida?

It doesn't cost a lot, it's very cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, Spanish is a very simple language for people from West Europe. But here, in Catalunya, people speak currently Catalan, which is a little bit difficult for no-Italian people. By the way, the university takes lots of language courses: Catalan, Castilian, English, French, German, etc...

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lérida from your city?

The easiest way to travel to Lleida from Milan is to take the plane to Barcelona El Prat. Then, there are lots of trains and buses (direct or not)to go to Lleida.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lérida?

Every party is near Plaza Ricard Vinyes. Here, you can find lots of bars and pubs (the most famous for erasmus studens is the Fissure).

There are also some discos, for example "La nuit" en Cappont.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lérida?

If you want to eat something like Italian food, you must go to the restaurant "La Sangiovesa".

If you want to eat typical "tapas", the best place is "Pecaditos", but are a lot of similar places!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Seu Vella, of course, is the most famous and great to visit. It's the cathedral of the city. There are also a castle (Gardeny) and some museums.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lérida in the future?
