Why did you choose to go to Lleida, Spain?

I wanted to go to Spain and this was the only option our school offert where there would be classes in English.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am here from February until the end of June. I recieved a scholar grant to live here and it helps a lot with the rent of my appartment. Everything is cheap here, so that is not really a problem.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lleida?

Lleida is a university city and there are a lot of Erasmus students here. They go partying every Thursday and when you go to the right places, you can definitely meet a lot of Erasmusstudents.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lleida to other students?

I would definitely recommend Lleida, because it is a small city where you have a lot of quitness and a lot of parcs. But it is still very close to Barcelona, Zaragoza, Tarragona and Andorra, so daytrips are very popular here.

What is the food like?

The food is great here, you have different restaurants. Some offer only pinchos or tapas, other have a day menu. The prices are very cheap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lleida?

It is very easy to find a shared flat in Lleida, cause of the many Erasmusstudents. It is a bit more difficult to find a good place. But my friend came here 2 months before we arrived and she found us our appartment.

How much does it cost to live in Lleida?

The prices for an appartment go from 130 euro (without electricity and stuff) to 250 euro. And the food is very cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Because Lleida is a city in Catalunia, everbody speaks Catalan here. That is a little difficult and most classes are in Catalan as well. But they also speak Spanish. There are language courses for Spanish and Catalan which are only 40 euro for Erasmus students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lleida from your city?

For me it was with the plane to Barcelona and then a train to Lleida.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lleida?

Fissure!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lleida?

Pecaditos and Lola.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Sue Vella and Parc de la Mitjana.
