It is a big city with plenty things to do during weekends, it has historical buildings and many museums worth visiting.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lima?

Living in Lima is cheap and there are many activities organised for and by students.

How much does it cost to live in Lima?

Depending where you live, students could spend between 850 and 1500 soles (not taking into account studies fees if you study in a private university).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lima? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not difficult to find accomodation, however it is good to take into account that most students that have relatives in Lima live with them. There are always private accomodations close to the main universities.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Peruvian food is the result of a mix of cultures during the last centuries, so it has a wide variety of techniques and products. Favourite dishes: ceviche, papa a la huancaina, carapulcra, tallarin saltado, causa rellena.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lima?

I would recommend visiting Lima historic center, Barranco, Pachacama or Nor Yauyos-Cochas (it is not in the city, but it is in the same region).

There are plenty of options to eat in Lima, from luxury restaurants to cheap street spots. The best places to eat are Barranco, the historic center and Miraflores.

Is the nightlife good in Lima? Where is good to go?

There are many places to go, most of them are in Miraflores and Barranco. During summer it is a good idea to visit Asia.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lima?

Try to search for accomodation before your arrival, and if possible contact students from the same university beforehand!
