Yes, I recommend to live Lima. The best you can get from Lima is 2 things, Amazing Treking routes (+100) and the high level of food. For the cheap and expensive pockets. The nigh life is only good. Beware of thiefs.

Yes, airbnb is good, but the locals around the colleges have the best preices without booking or similars

Is the best in the world, take a tour in the locals market of friuts and vegetables
What places would you recommend visiting in Lima?
Museo de Oro, Treking to Ticlio, take all the treking routes, the downtown, the port of callao and the tours in the oceans.
Is it good to eat out in Lima? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
there are many, for the cheap RosaToro Avenue in San Borja, for the expensive LarcoMar, and La Mar Avenue in Miraflores. The best restaurant is Central (many awards in World) https://centralrestaurante.com.pe/.
Is the nightlife good in Lima? Where is good to go?
Only good, in distrcit of Miraflores is the best. And the port of Asia for trance music.
What advice would you give future students heading to Lima?
Be smarth with money, many thiefs, and if you manage it well, you can get many experiences in Lima
