6 months! I got 1800 CHF from the host university and 800 CHF from my home university.

Definitely! If you want to meet people from everywhere, this is the place!

It was very hard but I finally found a room.

Around 1500 CHF per month.

Yes, there are some courses available in French and English.

By train.

Hmm I haven't tried any. But Holy Cow, a fast food burger restaurant seems very popular!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Olympic stadium.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lausanne in the future?

Go for it. Plan your accommodation in advance, start thinking about it 6 months earlier. Make sure you get some good scholarships.
