My experience in Lausanne

I have spent a couple of months in Lausanne, a couple of summers ago. I am sure that the city is still beautiful and worth living in, just like it was two years ago.

I have fallen in love with Lausanne. Given that I have lived in a close small village, I haven't fully lived the city, but I can share my experience as a tourist and as a German language student. Even though I was in the French canton of Switzerland, I already spoke French, so I got a chance to improve my German that I didn't speak fluently. All in all, I have attended the course at the fantastic Migros school.

If there is something I love in Switzerland, it is the existence of Migros school, where you can study basically everything! From how to cook sushi to languages. It's fantastic and useful. You will see a lot of Migros supermarkets as well, because that's what the original business was. The man who created the supermarket in his last will said that all the money earned should be invested in education and that is how Migros schools were founded.

But let's speak about Losanna. Transport prices are very high but on the other hand public transport here is very reliable. No delays, nothing gets broken. You can easily reach all places. The city is very clean and organised. Living here is very nice and if you can find a job, the salary is good and life is enjoyable. There are tennis courts, places for skating, swimming pools, parks and then there is the lake that you can enjoy especially during the hot summers! Actually summers are warm to enjoy the lake and the swimming pools. I have spent a summer in the spirit of relax and I have travelled a lot.

You can visit some really nice parks and the city centre is really nice. I have to admit that Lausanne is not as nice as Barcelona, Paris, London or Rome, but there are a lot of beautiful hidden places, really interesting to discover. Furthermore, the city is very diverse, with a lot of young people and you can all kinds of shops here. The cathedral is something that has to be seen, landscapes are amazing and the sunflower stretches are breathtaking.

From Losanna you can reach: Geneve, Lutry, Vouvry, Mountreaux and obviously, Zurich. I have never been in the Italian canton, but I am pretty sure that visiting that it is worth visiting this part too!
