Taking an intensive Spanish course at this Gran Canaria school of languages was defenitely the best thing I could do before starting my Erasmus year at ULPGC. I had already some Spanish knowledge but wasn't feeling sure about many topics like the past tenses or some tricky things like the reflexive verbs or this lo thing that was driving me crazy. I thought about just starting the semester and go ahead with some course at the university, but a good friend adviced me to look for a good intensive course before staring the semester.
Where to learn Spanish in Las Palmas?
After I took a quick look online I felt in love with this school. Their communicative concept was very appealing for me. I didn't really just want to know the grammar and not be able to speak. They promised a class with focus on communication and they delivered. In a friendly conversation they made me take their level test to recommend me the best course possible. They gave me my diagnosis: I was somewhere between A2 and B1. I sign for their A2 course that had already started two weeks ago, and for the first two weeks of the upcoming B1 level.
The course was great. I finally understood the difference between all past tenses! The teacher also quickly understood what where my doubts in things I should already have known. He always reviewed things from lower levels whenever he saw that me or the others were having troubles. But even though we learned and reviewed so much grammar we were talking all the time. They really have a great concept where you learn and practice all the time around communication exercises. I feel now very confident when speaking. I have the feeling that I can speak more fluently and also correctly. Now I am taking a couple of weeks to visit other islands before my university courses start, but I am propably coming back for some more weeks. The investment pays, especially with their Eramus students discount. I feel that I will make more out of my stay and my classes at university after taking this course. 5 starts!
