It's definitelly a place you must visit because it's really beautifull. If you like to walk and be surrounded by nature i assure you that this is a place you must visited.
Cinque Terre it's a place that comprises five villages named: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Our first stop it was, of course, Riomaggiore.
We didnt stay much longer here because it doesn't have many things to see. So we go to post of information to ask where it's started the trial called Via dell’Amore. But we couldn't because the woman said to us that trial was closed, so we have to choose another one that was more difficult to do for the persons that are not used to walk. One note, if you don't like to walk you could go to the other villages by train or bus. But i thinh yf you want to try the full experience, i think if you do the trail it will be better.
So we started to climb to Manarola. I have to say the truth, it was hard but in the end it was amazing.
You can see in the picture, in the background Riomaggiore and right beside us the sea. Almost every walk to Manarola was beside the sea and it was pretty cool.
Then after a point of must climb, we started to go down until we started to see Manarola.
When we were going down we meet to german girls. We stop for a little while and we get to know each other. They already did the trial that passes all villages and they were almost at the end. They said to us that it was a lifeheart experience. At this point i was so excited to do the rest.
One of the must magical things that we feel was the people that we meet along the way. We meet many people, since Canada, California, Norway, Sweden, Germany and France. I think that's the reason why many people do the trial. I don+t have regrets even if in the end i was really tired and my feet hurt.
Well, after we say ours goodbyes to the german girls we go down until we get to Manarola. Manarola is the smallest of the Cinque Terre villages. We take some pictures. We could see all the village in a short time and that was good because we needed to start the trial again to Corniglia.
After this we go to by a ticket for bus, to get us in half way of the trail because i couldn't climb anymore.
When we get to the last stop of bus, we get out and started to walk again. It wasn't hard. I think it's was one of the must beautiful pathway to Corniglia. And of course, it's not necessary to say that we meet many people. It was funny because sometimes, people stop and ask us if the pathway it was hard or if it miss a lot to finish. And all the time we said "Oh it's easy, don't miss many much". And we said that because we think that couraged the people to do it and to not give up.
We try to take many pictures as possible because we don't want to forget.
Somewhere along the way to Corniglia. I can precisely say where because we see many things.
And as you can see, deep down our next destination, Corniglia. It was all the time a relief to see our destination and that we were almost there.
In corniglia we stop to have lunch. We bring our lunch from home to not spend very much money. We rest for a little bit and then we started to walk again.
I think the next to trials was the most difficult. It was really challenged. We have many ups and downs. Many stairs. At the end of the day i just said, "i don't want to see stairs for a week". So we started our trip, with our bags on our sholders and with our stomach full. Along the way we stop many times because we were tired and it was really hot that day. Now i will show you some pictures when depart from Corniglia and goes to Vernazza.
And then finally VERNAZZA!
I think Vernazza was the most beautifull village. And it was so hot that i just want to go wet my feet but we couldn't because we needed to started the final pathway to Monterosso. But we could see Vernazza and take some pictures. Here it's where we meeted a couple from Sweden and they were very nice to us. We chat for a little bit and we talk about Portugal and they talk a little bit of Sweden. It was refreshing. After a pause, then we started again to our last stop. I will tell, at this point i was so tired that i just want to take the train anf go to Monterosso, but where is the magic in that? Where is the adventure spirit in that? So we didn't take the train. We walk and it was so worth it!
The final trail it has so many stairs. I think this one was the must difficult one because we were very tired and we have to climb many stairs. But the sights that we have along the way, they help us in some way to keep going. In the end i was so proud of myself and i really want to cry but i didn't because that's not my way.
And finally Monterosso. When we get there, i just said: Let's go to the beach, i want to put my feet on the water. And we did it. We take our sneakers and sink our feet in the water. It was a pure sentiment of relief and joy. But i didn't want to finish our trip this way. We are adventures so we need to finish big so i said to my friends: "Let's take a stone, make a wish to ourselves and then toss the stone to the sea and let the water takes our wish to see if he has the power to make them come true".
The end...
It's wasn't the end, just the beginning to new and discovery of adventures!
