Experience in Koper, Slovenia by Bostjan
What is it like to live in Koper? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Living there is good. Connections are very good and the access too. Small and cosy town.
What is the student lifestyle like in Koper?
Improving slowly...
How much does it cost to live in Koper?
It depends on what you are looking for. Flats under 400 euros/month are hard to find.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Koper? Is there any advice you can give?
Yes. During the study season, rooms are often occupied and nobody rents for just one semester. In summer it gets worse.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Excellent. Vegetable stews, meat, fish, wines... all very tasty and mostly bio.
What places would you recommend visiting in Koper?
Koper itself + all coastal towns. Inland is perfect for cycling.
Is it good to eat out in Koper? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Istrska klet Slavček, Srebrna žlica, Nimis, Pizzeria 33, Šrorija, and Atrij.
Is the nightlife good in Koper? Where is it good to go?
The nightlife is better in Portorož, 20min away.
What advice would you give future students heading to Koper?
Do not take a lot of luggage and be prepared for some serious wind in winter.
