What is it like to live in Kayseri? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

In Kayseri, people live a quiet life. Most of the people of kayseri are tradesmen.

How much does it cost to live in Kayseri?

it is my hometown so ı spend 600tl per month(1euro=3,86tl). Students from other cities spend 1200tl per month

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kayseri? Is there any advice you can give?

there are a lot of hotels but they are very expensive. Students generally stay at dormitories.There are many dormitories to host.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Turkish dishes are very delicious. I have some foreign friends and they like our foods. My favourite foods are Turkish Kebab, Mantı(it like Pasty), Yağlama ects.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kayseri?

There are many historical places and natural beauties. Firstly, I recommend to see Erciyes Mountain. it is Turkey's largest Winter Sports Center. You can do Winter and summer activities. Then, you can visit Peri Bacaları(Fairy chubs). it is 70km from the Kayseri. More than 2 million visitors come to the Peri Bacaları every year. there are more than 10 museums in the city center

Is it good to eat out in Kayseri? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

yes of course. KasapA Restaurant, Seyir Cafe, Airbus Cafe & Restaurant, Radisson Blu Hotel Roof Restaurant, Haci Steak House, Taş Mekan Et Lokantası, Maide Pide, Kasik-La, Shakespeare Coffee & Bistro...

Is the nightlife good in Kayseri? Where is good to go?

there are nothing about nightlife. My foreign friends complain about this too. People who live in Kayseri are very conservative. Alcohol sales prohibited after 10 o'clock. there are no clubs, pubs, nightclubs, pavilion ects...

What advice would you give future students heading to Kayseri?

If you just want to meet new people and know new cultures and learn new languages, you should go to Kayseri.
