What is it like to live in Kathmandu? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nepal has very interesting geographical landscapes including mountains, rivers, lakes, plain grasslands. Which lies in south of Asia continent. Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. It's the valley surrounded by hills with the view of mountains. It's so cool to live here. It's favourable in both summer and winter season. Neither too hot nor too cold.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kathmandu?

Colleges and universities provide students friendly environment. Study materials are sufficient. We We can join weekly refreshing party in Thamel side and Chovaar hill side, fun parks etc. It's romantic and enjoyful.

How much does it cost to live in Kathmandu?

Living cost is affordable to students. Monthly accommodation including transportation, rent dinner, breakfast and miscellaneous NRS 12000(~120 US$) approximately. For standard living with 3 bed room rent accommodation costs nearly 200 US$.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kathmandu? Is there any advice you can give?

There is no facility of students canteen in Universities and collages. It is better to live in rent and we can contract with nearby hotels for lunch ,dinner and breakfast. Or we can live in private hostels too.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Mostly Chinese and Indian food, Nepali special dishes. For breakfast Italian items are also available. My favourite dish is Nepali special dish.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kathmandu?

Basantapur Darbar, Pashupati Temple, Bhaktapur region, Nagarkot, Godawari, Lots of Historical places and cultural heritage places are there for visit.

Is it good to eat out in Kathmandu? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Street foods are good in some places not in anywhere.

Is the nightlife good in Kathmandu? Where is good to go?

Yes nightlife is good in Kathmandu. Thamel side is good for nightlife.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kathmandu?

Students can apply for some faculty like medicine, MBBS, Sociology, Arts, Culture. Not good for engineering and Information technology.
