What is it like to live in Kabul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

First of all, I would not recommend anyone to go to Kabul. The security is very bad, anything can happen at any moment. Very few people know English. Foreigners can't go out, you would stumble upon one or two of them in a week.
In the summer the city is full of dust, no one cares about the air pollution, so you would trashesh laying around almost in every corner of the city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kabul?

Students lives are not good. There are no healthy activities or social interactions. It's very rare to find the books you need.
You always have to carry cash which is very dangerous.

How much does it cost to live in Kabul?

Living in Kabul is very cheap, if you choose to live in a dormitory. Only 60 to 80$ a month would enough for the monthly rent.
The food is very cheap and also you can find lots of local restaurants which have really delicious foods

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kabul? Is there any advice you can give?

In most places the policy to rent an apartment, you have to have a family. But students can life with other university students, where they share a room or a house.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I am living in Russia, and the only thing I miss about my country is the food. The foods are very delicious.
Me favorite dishes are Afghani Kebab and Qabeli.
If any one wants to try Afghani food, they should also go for Mantoo.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kabul?

Shahre Naw (the city center), Paghman(the country side), Karte Char(quiet and clean), and Baghe Bala the plcae where the Intercontinental Hotel is located.

Is it good to eat out in Kabul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yeah it's really good to go and eat outside. Especially, Share Naw which is the city center and Karte Char, where you can find lots of fast food and also local restaurants.

Is the nightlife good in Kabul? Where is good to go?

I don't recommend going alone at night at all, the security is not that good.
But with friends 3 or 4 sure, why not.
At night the only place to go is the city center, Share Naw.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kabul?

Apart from the security, living in Kabul is good. The people are really great, especially when you visit someone's home. The hospitality is really something that you need to experience.
