I watched all the Indiana Jones movies. And I have seen Petra images in it. I loved the place and wished to myself to visit it one day. That wish came true quite early.

I booked myself a ticket to the capital of Jordan, Amman. Only 2.5 hours away from Dubai, I arrived, went through the immigration and the tour guide picked me up from the airport. Our first stop was the Dead Sea. This is another excellent remedy for the people with blemishes. It literally burnt all the active acne I had on my skin and the mud which you can put once you go out, helped to tighten the skin. We know already that the Dead Sea is the saltiest sea on the Earth so you don’t have to be able to swim; you just float and enjoy your life.

We continued our drive to our accommodation in Petra. The ride took almost 4 hours so we arrived in late night. The next morning we bought tickets to Petra and we went on an adventure. The hike was quite long, about 11km which I did not expect. Therefore, a good pair of sneakers as well as comfy clothes is essential. There are locals inside trying to sell you stuff such as postcards, souvenirs, drinks. Some of them did not really react well on me wearing shorts as according to Islam, I should have been covered more. But I just could not be bothered with that heat. The Petra itself is spectacular. The stones of different colors, tiny, narrow paths; it was impressive to be a part of it.

Next stop on our travel itinerary was the Wadi Rum Desert where we had something like the desert safari which I already had the chance to experience in Dubai. So this was not too interesting for us and few hours later we were headed back to the capital, Amman. We arrived too late to visit the Citadel, so the guide took us to see typical local spots. We ate hummous and falafel which were super tasty.

The last day before going to the airport, we visited Jerash, the Roman ruins. When you think back, how great the power and influence of the Roman Empire must have been.

This one was one of my favorite trips and I really had a good time. Here goes a high recommendation from my side. If you want to travel, do give a shot to Jordan. You might be positively surprised.
