What is it like to live in Jena? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Jena is nice small city yet has everything you need. Cost of living is not bad and student dormitory price is really affordable. The weather is not good compared to sunny Italy or Spain but its much better than the other part of Germany.

What is the student lifestyle like in Jena?

Students hang out with each other in Stammtisch (That's the get to know meeting hosted by ESN). Other than that, there is not much time to do other activities because of the workload study.
Hohschulsport Jena offers a variety of interesting classes which is good and cheap. But the only problem is that you have to register as early as possible to get a spot.

How much does it cost to live in Jena?

If you stay in a single room with Studentenwerk dorm, its cost around 150-250€ which is a really good price. But If you want a room in private accommodation it would cost you around 250-400€ depending on the location and room size.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Jena? Is there any advice you can give?

It wasn't difficult at all. I think Studentenwerk try to accommodate all international students. But you need to apply as early as possible too.
