What is it like to live in Izmir? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

living in izmir makes you feel like living in another place apart from turkey. regarding culture, behaviour of people to another one, the situation of city, being closer to every touristic and holiday places.

What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?

izmir's life is based on a student life due to 6 great universities which two of them are one of the brightest ones. we can say that some public regions are really similar to dormitory with its student population.

How much does it cost to live in Izmir?

as the city contains lots of student, student based trade has been formed which means rents are pretty expensive if you want to live close to uni or central places comparing to the other cities.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Izmir? Is there any advice you can give?

its not hard to find an acc. in izmir. it has lots of dormitory which are really suitable for erasmus students. Or you can find a flat with another erasmus students/turkish students. İn izmir, its so common to live with an erasmus student even if you are all erasmus, or with a turkish student.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

is there any need to explain how turkish foods are? :) go on with google images :)

What places would you recommend visiting in Izmir?

it depends what do want to see. historical places, nightlife, sea, food... every kind of desire is placed so close to izmir.

Is it good to eat out in Izmir? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

yes it reasonable to eat outside where the rate of price and flavor is so low in some places where lots of student live around.

Is the nightlife good in Izmir? Where is good to go?

yes, especially in weekends. You can definitely go to alsancak / kıbrıs şehitleri.

What advice would you give future students heading to Izmir?

if you have chance to live here as an erasmus student, its perfect-fit place for you.
