Why did you choose to go to Izmir, Turkey?
I needed a cheap Destiny and poland destinys got finished
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
10 months, I receive 200 euros per month during the first 7 months, but It depends on your university
What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?
People is usually nice and there are a lot of student Who speaks english. Turkish people may be really interested on your culture(at least was My case, I'm spanish by the way)
Would you recommend the city and the University of Izmir to other students?
Of course, you are free and you have good Life conditions.
What is the food like?
Too much meat, It's hard to find vegetables , there are some salads in some places, I really love meat, but I'm cooking more at home because as I said, I'm getting tired of too much meat
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Izmir?
My University (Ege) has an student village, but I decided to move out, you can get better prices and quality looking by yourself , but It's hard to look for accomodation , people trying to cheat on you...
How much does it cost to live in Izmir?
500 euro if you eat outside almost always
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
There IS no lenguague course for us and turkish seems to be hard.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Izmir from your city?
Actually, from My city, Gijón, I cannot travel.to izmir, I need to go to Madrid or Barcelona and from there taking a plane
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Izmir?
Alsanyak if you want party, bornova if you prefer chill
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Izmir?
Most of them are really good
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Clock tower, konak market....and not much more, Izmir is a good place for living bit there are not much things to ser, It's nota for holidays
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Izmir in the future?
Just enjoy, ask for help if you want, be social and try to eat as healthy as you can
