What is it like to live in Izmir? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Izmir is a typical Aegean city. With nice weather and delicious food. You have to see little settled area like Cesme and Urla.Izmır is the 3rd biggest city in Turkey and also a cosmopolit town.You can find many kind of culture in Izmır.Most importantly, İzmir citizens are very friendly.

What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?

Well,that's funny.Especialy in winter semester.You could visit many places.And Izmır is a open-minded town.But you have to careful about the traffic jam.

How much does it cost to live in Izmir?

700 euros is enough for visiting somewhere and entertainment. You could eat cheap in Izmır,especialy around the Ege Universitesi(Ege University) and this area is full of students.And they are very helpful.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Izmir? Is there any advice you can give?

700 euros per a month is enough i think. You could rent a 3+1 house for 250-300 euros per a month.Except the bills.Maybe you could find a cheapest house in bornova. Or you could find a apart for students. But i cant recommend a place specificly.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Foods are nearly same the greek cuisine.But also we have our foods like kebap etc. İ recommend you Fish.You can find very delicious fish in İzmir.

What places would you recommend visiting in Izmir?

Ephesus,its a historical places.Also you can find there The virgin Mary's House.You could visit the historical elevator in Karatas.And you could go to the fair.

Is it good to eat out in Izmir? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

i think best restaurants in Izmır is Topcu,Tavacı Recep Usta,Altınbalık(Fish restaurant) but maybe it's a little bit expensive.

Is the nightlife good in Izmir? Where is good to go?

You have to go bornova,alsancak,or bostanlı for nightlife.

What advice would you give future students heading to Izmir?

Keep calm and dont worry,probably you will enjoy in İzmir.It's a fascinating city.
