What is it like to live in Izmir? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Of course I would recommend it, Izmir is full of open-minded people who have the most beautiful way to make visitors feel the same way in Turkey. In my opinion, the best city around here depends on living conditions.

What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?

Students here are very modern and easy-going , have entertaining life style, always ready to go, full of joy and exciment in their hearts and minds.
They do study and enjoying the life by theirselves with a great mixture of culture.

How much does it cost to live in Izmir?

It's not that much to live here, not like Istanbul. Transports, foods and energy not that expensive. Rents are kinda high blow but still Izmir is not stealing a lot from our pockets. It costs 400- 500 euro for a month at most.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Izmir? Is there any advice you can give?

The most useful advice that I would give is that find some friends to rent a flat together. Dormitories here dont get the same old way to live happily together cuz of governments so .. having a flat with friend which close to campus is more fun and solid.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Foods here are kinda mix of Italian and Arabic. Both mediterrian and full of spicy meats. You can also find every kind here. Chinese, Russian, French ... No matter what you like.

What places would you recommend visiting in Izmir?

Watch Tower, Kemeraltı, Eski Izmir, Kadifekale, Ephesus ( countryside ) , Alsancak

Is it good to eat out in Izmir? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I have not that favourite spot in Izmir , it's more mixture of everything, just go out and make a choose at that moment, whatever you like you can find it here.

Is the nightlife good in Izmir? Where is good to go?

Yes. Especially when academic semestre is underway, full of youth and energy in every step of Alsancak and Bornova. Friday and Staurday nights you wouldn't have a time to sit.

What advice would you give future students heading to Izmir?

Put your seat belts on guys, a cool journey is waiting for you.
