What is it like to live in Izmir? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is an active city. The weather is not too much cold in wonter but in summer it is hot like hell. The summers are the most attractive season.

What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?

There is lots of things to do. You can go to Alsancak to have coffee or have a good lunch then you can walk at the seaside. At night you can dance and listen to the music at Gazi Kadinlar. There is a place which name is Cafe del mundo (varuna) offers the guests different sort of beer accompanied by music. You can talk with your friends there and also there is quiz night with the suprised gifts. You can also go to the shopping malls forum bornova,agora(located in balcova) and you can also go to the bostanli. In addition to those, you can loan a bicycle and tour at inciralti.

How much does it cost to live in Izmir?

It is approximately 600 turkish lira without paying rent.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Izmir? Is there any advice you can give?

Although I live my family I can say that it is not dofficult to find accompdation. Because there is lots of students studying in Izmir and living in flats that they rented. You can easily find a flat in Bornova,Balcova and Ucyol.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The tastes are good. I eat everything but my favorite dishes are generally traditional. You can eat or cook every meal cooked with olive oil.

What places would you recommend visiting in Izmir?

You should go to Cesme :) It is tourism and holoday paradise. In winter you can walk at alacati relaxlybut in summer it is chock full.

Is it good to eat out in Izmir? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There is several options to choose. It depends on the lifestyle and income. You can eat at midpoint which is the one of the best restaurants but expensive. You can eat pizza at pizza venedik. Alins is the moderate restaurant. There are many places to eat :)

Is the nightlife good in Izmir? Where is good to go?

You should go to Gazi kadinlar. Tren,radio and jacksons are some of the clubs that I advise.

What advice would you give future students heading to Izmir?

You should go to Agora to see the first starting point of market. It is an archaic place.
