How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I was there for a 4 months. My scholarship was 4 months. I think if you know how to save money, its possible to survive there with 800-100 euro per month including rent costs, somr trips, parties.
What is the student lifestyle like in Izmir?
Students are really active there. I think everybody can find what to do there.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Izmir to other students?
As much as i heard from other ERASMUS students, i can say Izmir is the best city for that. Turkish hospitality and interests to party for sure will make best conditions for weekends, also its not so difficult to study and everybody will meet you with smile. As much as i know its really better than Germany or France. Especially Ege University!!
What is the food like?
Food is totally different than in East Europe, but its nice to taste it. There is no pork!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Izmir?
Yes. First i took a student village, but it was too low quality and too big price, so i fou d friends and rent a flat.
How much does it cost to live in Izmir?
Depends on yours activities and lifestyle.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Language its easy, there was courses in University.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Izmir from your city?
Flight to Istanbul, then ferry in Marmaris sea and then bus. Bus and ferry tickets you can find combined.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Izmir?
Alsancak is the most active place with lots of clubs and etc.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Izmir?
I wasnt looking for good restaurants, for me event the simpliest meals was new.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Of caurse there is Efesus (old greek city after war), Bergama, Cappadoccia, Istanbul, Pamukkalle
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Izmir in the future?
Its reay nice to explore this city. Its so big, different cultures, friendly peope, different livestyle. All my friends i met there was really happy for this chose :)

You can find pork in hotels but may be its too expensive
