Solunt

Solunt was our next stop, a former Phoenician-Greek city: The place was up high, and a small peninsula with a cross made for a nice shot.

Solunt

The ancient city ruins comprised apartments and a cistern (see below).

Solunt

The cistern was huge, which was necessary for a town in dry areas and in war times.

Temples and towers also played a part in the city.

Near the ancient site, a modern village had been founded.

The small forest nearby hid some ancient walls ... it was like a secret world!

This post will have a second part, stay tuned!
