Lago di Garda

During our trip time went so fast. It was already the fourth day of our trip. We were living in Arco and we still did not have time to go for a one day trip or to spend a whole day on the beach. We wanted to do a lot of things. As we took our roller skates from the Czech Republic, we wanted to use them. Next, we wanted to go to the beach and enjoy the lake. Lastly, we wanted to climb up to the biggest mountain in that area. Another interesting trip was going to the small lake (another one than Lago di Garda). This day we got up quite late because of the castle trip the night before. We agreed on going to the mountain and going swimming afterwards. We took all things we needed with us.

Since Lucy already has been to Arco many times she told us about the best pizza place there. We decided to try it for lunch. It was really close to our accommodation. It sounded amazing. We could buy a huge pizza (45 centimetres) for all of us, moreover, we could have four different flavours as well. Lucy even remembered the man making the pizza there. We quickly chose our flavour and we had to wait only for 10 minutes! It was similar to the pizza company in Hradec actually. You can have this size of pizza as well there. The pizza was tasty and after eating a quarter of it, I felt totally full.

That day I was chagrined at cold water. When I imagined that the water would be as cold as the day before I did not even want to go there. Even though it was hot weather we could not enjoy swimming inside the lake when the temperature of water was like this. Nevertheless, Lucy suggested we could try swimming in the small lake because they went there many times when she was in Italy. In the end we postponed our trip to the mountain because the sun was strong around 1 pm.

When we got there I was amazed. The water was literally crystal.

It was nice to watch it. We were surrounded by mountains and nature. A lot of people were lying on the ground and swimming there. Therefore, we stayed there and bought our parking ticket. Unfortunately, we immediately found out that there was no big difference between the temperature of water in Lago di Garda and this small lake. We were walking a little bit, we were having a coffee and then we noticed we could borrow a pedal boat. I love pedal boats.

Last time we rent it with my Mexican friend in Prague and we did it with my friends in Rome as well. It was a great idea. At that time we had no idea that right after buying the ticket sun could hide itself. Otherwise we would probably change the place. We started to float and we were waiting for the sun. However, it did not show up. I enjoyed being on the boat a lot but the weather was windy. We managed to take few things with us on the boat. When I saw boys swimming and throwing themselves into the water I was sure I would be the next one in the water.

It was exactly this way. Lucy was still taking the pills so he did not have to worry. Although I had no excuse and I had to jump into the water. Otherwise they would throw me there. It was good until I came out of the water. I felt so cold. We spent approximately two hours near this lake and then we finally took our in-line skates and we went to explore the area near Arco.

Unfortunately, Marek did not take his in-line skates and he decided to rent a bike. We wanted to go to the cycle track around 5 pm and the shop was supposed to close at 7 pm. Therefore we did not have time for renting the bike. I tried to call our host and he recommended us to rent it for a whole day through the night but it did not work. When Marek came there, they did not allow him to do it. We did not want to go without him so we convinced him to run with us. It sounded funny but in the end it was all right because we were quite slow. I thought that I was experienced enough with my roller skates but I was not. When I took them on me and I stood up it was crazy.

We were on the normal road and I was not even able to move from the car to the other part of the road. When Marek came we were trying to get to the cycle track. When we got there it was the way easier since there were no bumps. The way was flat, which was convenient for me. After a few minutes I got already used to being in my in-line skates and I started to enjoy the ride.

Marek was running with us and when there was a small hill up or down, he helped us. It was great experience. All the way I was watching the flowers or mountains. Cycle track was amazing. I could imagine running or cycling there as well. We were talking and immediately we found the bridge which was 5 kilometres from the accommodation. We almost went to Riva (near the lake). Our whole trip was more than 10 kilometres. I had a nice feeling after finally doing sport.

When we got home me and Lucy had to prepare and cook risotto again. Boys decided to watch the football match France against Germany. In the meantime when boys took a shower we went for an ice-cream again!

I did not hesitate and took the peanut one. It was again delicious. During the cooking I noticed I received an offer from my university in Amsterdam for my accommodation. It was totally bad timing! On the one side I did not want to spend the whole evening booking it and on the other side, I could not stop thinking about it. When we decided to take help from our university they told us to be fast with confirmation and payment. Therefore, I had to solve it that evening. My friend Romca who was supposed to share the room with me was already sleeping. When we finished risotto I asked Marek to help me.

I expected a huge selection of rooms but actually I received only two of them according to my budget. I already decided I wanted to pay less and travel more than spending a lot of money only on accommodation. As I know myself I won´t spend much time inside my room. I was happy when I found out that shared rooms were with two floors so even if you had shared room you could have a little bit of privacy. The rooms in different buildings were almost the same. The only difference was in sharing the bathroom and kitchen with two or four people, the colour of the furniture or the location. I was surprised that both locations were great. I decided not to accept one because there was written something about reconstruction in the morning from August and I remember I hated reconstruction in Prague in the morning. The name of my residence is Prins Hendrikkade. It is only 15 minutes walking from my university and 5 minutes by bike. There is one park close by too.

When I was choosing my room Matej got angry because it took me more time than expected. When I was almost sure which room to take I had to postpone the payment to morning because I needed to wait for Romca´s decision. Although I did not wake up on time in the morning, so I have no idea if we will really share the room together. Nevertheless, we will be in the same building with Tyna and with another friend from my school.

This day was long. I managed to convince Matej to get up from his bed and we were playing the drinking game. Lucy wanted to bet Matej that we would finish all bottles this evening. It was unfortunately impossible but we still drank a lot. We were playing Kings Cup. It used to be my favourite game. There is a cup and cards around. Then each player takes one card and he or she has to accomplish the task. Of course with each task someone has to drink. It was fun as always. We were laughing a lot and we went out to walk to the fountain as well. Unfortunately, Arco is a quiet city and we could not continue anywhere else and we went sleep around 3 am. Next day was our last day.
