Islamabad is a quiet peaceful city. It is the Capital of Pakistan. It is a planned city built on a grid pattern. It is located next to mountains and has scenic views.

Casual.
How much does it cost to live in Islamabad?
For a student living in a hostel it costs less than $200/month. If you rent your own place and eat out regularly than it can cost between $400-800.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Islamabad? Is there any advice you can give?
No it is very easy to find public and private hostels, shared or single use apartments and portions in houses to rent.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food scene in Islamabad is awesome. The local cuisine and street food is pretty reasonable and delicious. Along with this you can have local and foreign burgers, pizzas, ice creams, donuts. There is an abundance of quality Chinese, Italian, Thai, Continental and Middle Eastern restaurants . I love local barbecue, Chinese and steaks here.
What places would you recommend visiting in Islamabad?
Saidpur Village, Lake View Park, Lok Virsa Museum, Faisal Mosque.
Is it good to eat out in Islamabad? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Monal Restaurant, Yum’s, Asian Wok.
Is the nightlife good in Islamabad? Where is good to go?
Pakistan is a Muslim country. Drinking and dancing is not encouraged here. You can go to concerts, bowling, paintball, cinema. If you can visit a Pakistani Wedding in the city you can dance and have fun.
What advice would you give future students heading to Islamabad?
Try getting into one of the Engineering Universities here as they are superb. Living in the hostels of universities like NUST can save a lot of money and commuting time.
