Why did you choose to go to Huelva, Spain?

I chose to go to Huelva because I was interested in biotechnology.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was for 3 months (Erasmus placement) and I received about 600 euro a month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Huelva?

Since I got there at the end of the academic year, I really couldn't say.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Huelva to other students?

Sure.

What is the food like?

I enjoyed the food. It was something new, that tasted great and I was keen on trying some recipes at home.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Huelva?

I was lucky because the Erasmus coordinator helped me to find accommodation so it was easier for me. It didn't cost anything.

How much does it cost to live in Huelva?

Depends on your habits. For a person who doesn't party much or goes often to restaurants, I think that 600 euro is enough. About 300 for rent, and 200 for food, and 100 for other expenses like bus tickets.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

As far as I know language courses are available and the language is very easy to learn, especially if you come from a Latin speaking country.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Huelva from your city?

Plane. There are buses too, not directly to Huelva though, but it's a very long and tiring drive.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Huelva?

You should definitely go to the city center and check out some pubs, depending on your preferences.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Huelva?

I didn't really eat at restaurants and I don't remember one right now. There is a pub though, in the city center, where there is a sign in the window that says "We speak English".

There is a good place to start. They also have food and you can ask the bartender anything you want to know, he is very friendly.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are some good spots in or near Huelva. It's much easier to travel if you have a car but if not, get a brochure or download one and start walking.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Huelva in the future?

During summer drink plenty of water.
