Why did you choose to go to Huelva, Spain?

I am studying here a master for the year 2019/2020.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have no scholarship, so it's better to get a job but it's a bit difficult here.

What is the student lifestyle like in Huelva?

Student usually lives in shared apartments with other students. It's better to learn how to cook because restaurants are not very affordable to students. The university "comedor" ("cafetería", and supermarkets are everywhere so it's easy to reach them. Several of my friends like to party at night, in bars or at friends' places. There's a building to study 24/7 at the Carmen Campus (UHU).

Would you recommend the city and the University of Huelva to other students?

Huelva is a simple city. I like it for its wheather, which is better than most other cities in Spain. It is attractive a little bit but not really impressive. The university is small and quite normal, but studying is easy compared to other places in Spain- from what I've heard. There isn't much to see, but if you like peace of mind this is a good place for you. The river is charming and has a long passage for walking or riding the bike. So to sum it up, you won't be mesmerised, but you will be satisfied.

What is the food like?

Fish and ham are very common. I am a vegetarian so I opt for "los montaditos" for some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The churros are very good too.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Huelva?

In my first residence it didn't, because I lived with the house owner. In the second it did, because I sought the help of an agency. My advice is search for a residence at least 2 months before moving in, because the best and cheapest options are always taken first.

How much is the cost of living in Huelva?

300€ on average, including residence. Less if you manage to avoid public transportation (get a bike!), and more if you line to spoil yourself or if you rent an expensive room (i. e. higher than 200€/month).

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Huelva from your city?

Flying ✈️

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Huelva?

The city centre.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Huelva?

"Los 100 Montaditos. "

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Plaza de las Monjas and Avenue Martín Alonso Pinzón, Barrio Obrero, Parque Moret, Muelle del Río Tinto and the Monastery of "La Rábida" in the outskirts as well, in Palos de la Frontera.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Huelva in the future?

Huelva has something hidden for every visitor... Wait for yours.
