Dobruška

After a long time I went finally again home to Hradec Králové. I don’t know why but since I am back in the Czech Republic I really appreciate being home. I already enjoyed being independent a lot in Prague and in France and now I appreciate being with my family more. It is such a great feeling to be in my old room where I feel comfortable and I have nice memories from there. I realized that my room is more than just room. I can study there, I can relax there and it is nice change to be on the one place after travelling and changing places all the time. In fact, since I am back I did not spend a lot of time in Hradec because I already found two jobs in Prague but always when I am free I am trying to go home to enjoy my time there. In addition, I can see again my friends from high school and we have a lot of common memories. I feel totally happy to keep company with my mum and my sister. That´s why I feel like I should enjoy them at maximum because I am moving to another place soon.

Therefore, we wanted to go for a trip today. In the morning my mum went to work and I was with my sister. We decided to have a fruity breakfast and we just mixed apples with nectarine and we had this drink. I had to work on my bachelor report again because I already received corrected version with e-mail addresses so I had to come up with an introduction letter and I sent everything. When my mum came I promised her to cook for us. She bought tortillas before so I decided to make an easy meal – tortillas filled with fresh vegetable, chicken and garlic dressing. It was delicious. My mum wanted to heat the tortilla so I suggested having quesadillas (since I work in the Mexican restaurant I have it again every working day). I just grilled tortilla on the pan and I added cheese with chicken inside and my mum finally liked it.

We wanted to go for a trip immediately after the lunch but the weather was too nice not to be in the swimming pool. We therefore jumped immediately into the water and we spent there one hour and half. As I said my sister is crazy about all kind of water and it was same today. She wanted to play with me and I was throwing her into the water. I took my green deckchair because I love lying on it and getting sun. It is perfect because you don’t feel warm thanks to the water and at the same time the sun is heating you. We had a lot of fun until my sister banged her head a little bit. It was good timing to leave the swimming pool and go.

I came back from France one month ago and I still did not have opportunity to see my grandparents. Therefore we went to Dobruška for a trip. Firstly, we went to the children playground to satisfy my sister. She had a lot of energy and she was just running from one attraction to another one. I had to join her as well.

Then, my mum had a good idea to go to our favourite restaurant in Dobruška. We have nice memories from this restaurant. When I was small and we used to live in Nové Město nad Metují we often used our bikes to get from one city to another one. One way is approximately 10 kilometres. The point is that if you survived cycling you could have a big reward after – fried bread (topinka) in the restaurant. The journey was not flat at all. On the way there we experienced a lot of hills up and down and having the food is always motivation. If I say fried bread it does not sound attractive, although, this one is amazing. They put cheese with a lot of ham on the top. When I heard about the idea of having it again I was in. We went there and surprisingly the food was same as few years ago. Even though it was quite expensive if I consider that Dobruška is really small city and it was just the starter.

In fact, I don’t like the city Dobruška at all. It seems to me that there is nothing to do there. There is only one square, the streets are quiet and of course there is a doctor, shop and restaurant. The only thing you can find there is a big swimming-pool for public. It is the one we went to with my father two weeks ago. The swimming pool is nice because it is not crowded and the pool is big. Despite the cold water I had always nice time there. If I compare Dobruska to Nové Město nad Metují I would say Nové Město is way better. The square is bigger, there is an awesome castle and few parks. But maybe it is only my feeling because I spent whole childhood in Nové Město.

Finally, we went to visit my grandparents. I did not see them since Christmas! That’s crazy. We were talking about everything! I was delighted that I had many things to talk about! Firstly, I was talking about all people I have met in France, about all places I have visited and all the things I have experienced. Later, I did not forget to show off that I passed all my exams, finished my thesis and learnt languages. Lastly, I told them about my future plans. It was great but they had a lot of health problems and things to talk about. Recently, they sold their favourite cottage as well. It was nice to see them and I would like to go there again before another semester starts!

For tomorrow, we are going to exercise with my mum! We also want to rearrange all the things in the kitchen and I am going to Prague earlier to meet my friends there.
