Once my mum decided to become a professional photographer. The main reason was probably that she did not have a job at that time and she wanted to change her life. She always loved creative activities, drawing, graphic design and so on. Therefore, it did not really surprise me. The thing is that it is not so easy to start being a photographer. Firstly, she found a photography course in Prague. She went there once per week during two months and at the end she had an exam and she received a certificate. Although it was not enough and she decided to participate in a make-up course and a hairstyle course as well. Later, it was clear that she needed more equipment to start having a business. Therefore, she started to rearrange our underground room next to the garage and she had it painted. At the moment we have a beautiful atelier for taking pictures at home. She had to invest in a good camera and lights as well. I am really proud of her because it is something she loves and it is not the easiest thing to have a business with it.

However, before she starts doing it professionally she should have numerous pictures she has taken to show them to the potential customers. That's why we agreed together on spending one day on doing my hair, putting my make-up on me and taking pictures of me. Firstly, she started with makeup and she even had special brushes for everything. Later, she used another tone of makeup for places near eyes. After the first layer she put face powder. We agreed before I wanted to have black eyes because I was not sure what to wear for taking pictures. She made me so-called "smokey eyes". She had totally different eyeliners as well and mascara. I chose the red colour for my lips. When it was done we were both tired. I liked it a lot but it was too much to wear it during normal days. To do my hair we used another special thing – a curling iron to make it curly. We already tried it once and it was perfect. It was quite fast and the curly hair was even. Although it would be almost impossible to use the curling iron on your own. It is always better if there is someone to help you.

When I was choosing the clothes for the pictures I decided to wear my new long black dress and my new t-shirt with skirt that together look as a dress. The second combination was in a style of the opera Carmen and it perfectly suited my hair and makeup. I was happy and we were ready to go.

I did not mention that before this long procedure my mum managed to do everything with my sister as well. You can imagine how happy she was. She is crazy about makeup, hair, dress and pictures – typical girl. So she chose her violet dress with a big skirt and she took at least two flowers into her wedding hairstyle and she had violet shades on her eyes. It was not natural because she is only six years old but she looked totally cute.

We decided to go by car to Smiřice to take pictures in the park. There was an old bridge as well that looked good on the pictures. People were staring at us but we did not care. The problem was that the main purpose of this whole day was taking pictures of me because my mum needed to have my pictures in her collection to show. But my sister did not want to understand it. She was so excited that she was making a lot of “poses” all the time and it was difficult to have a picture without her. Although we managed to do a lot of them and I enjoyed it a lot. I still did not see all pictures but I am looking forward to it!

Barbecue

I am a big fun of spontaneous plans, but it is always hard to do it as I plan everything in advance. Therefore, when someone asks me to do something at the last moment I am busy almost every time. That day it was different! I had a lot of plans after taking pictures – running, packing to Italy, finishing my report and cleaning my room, but probably they were not important because on our way home my friend Honza sent me a text saying we could have a barbecue in the evening. He threw a spanner in the works. On the one side, I like barbecues, especially at Honza´s placeand it was a long time since I went to his place for the last time. On the other side, I still had a lot of things to do. I was thinking about it and when I realized that it was an unique opportunity because the day after I was supposed to go to Italy I decided to go. I made an exception with my plans – I decided to postpone packing for the morning. My report could be postponed as well because my coordinator wrote me he would send me my corrected version in a few days. Cleaning was postponed to undetermined time and as I went running 10 kilometres on Saturday it was all right without running. Moreover, I heard from many people recently that sport is only 30 % of the effect on losing weight. So I should be focused more on my diet. Haha.

I was even happier when I found out that there would be Tom and Kuba at Honza´s place as well because they are almost the only ones from Hradec I am still keeping the contact with. The preparation for the barbecue was long. Firstly, we put the meat into the oil with spice, we cut the vegetables and we heated the grill. Even though it was raining it did not ruin anything. The grill was under the roof and we were eating inside. The guys were super nice that day.

They picked me up at home, they did shopping and after the party they took me home. I have to admit it might have been the first time I felt totally happy after coming back to the Czech Republic except for moments with my family. I finally realized that I could have the same fun in the Czech Republic as I had in France. The whole evening was great – we had amazing food, pleasant company and I was laughing with them the whole time. Honza even lent me a guide to Verona and Lago di Garda, where I was going next day.
