What is it like to live in Helsinki? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
yes I would recommend Helsinki as an exchange student experience, particularly for peopled coming from countries like italy spain greece (..) because you get in contact with a very different way of living.. Helsinki is very multicultural and a great life experience to live in the youth age.

How much does it cost to live in Helsinki?
~400 for a room and other ~200 for everithing else
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Helsinki? Is there any advice you can give?
yes I found a bit difficult the accommodation task but only because I knew very late that I was choosen by my university for the erasmus schoolarship so I applied late and didn't find a spot in any student building for the first semester, I lived in the woods a bit (odd fall semester) and moved to a studnet buinding in january..where the good life begun =)
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I do like salmon but it was a bit expensive so as an exchange student you have to stick with lidl grocery stores and try to survive
What places would you recommend visiting in Helsinki?
if you just take a bike and cycle around you're gonna find everithing by yourself.
Is it good to eat out in Helsinki? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
ehm not really
Is the nightlife good in Helsinki? Where is good to go?
avoid city center and go Kallio..that's all.
Kallio is an up-hill district crowded of pubs bars and nice clubs (not the 'bad' clubs of the city center) where you really can experience the finnish way of get wasted.
