Why did you choose to go to Helsinki, Finland?

I choose a country I had never been and wouldn't visit on a holiday soon. Also Helsinki gives you the opportunity to travel with your fellow students easily which makes the experience complete.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

970 euro.

What is the student lifestyle like in Helsinki?

There are a lot of bars with mainstream sing a long music, hits. So if this is what you like to dance to it is good.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Helsinki to other students?

I did not study at university of Helsinki.

What is the food like?

The Finnish kitchen is nothing special and the restaurants are mostly self service and pricy. So be able to cook on your own.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Helsinki?

Yes, accommodation is a real problem here, maybe even harder than in Amsterdam - the Netherlands. I had to stay in an apartment without a shower and after I lived in a hotel.

How much does it cost to live in Helsinki?

550 rent plus 500 expenses in a month, without traveling.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I took a Swedish course which is an easy language and so easy to learn.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Helsinki from your city?

I live in Helsinki city centre so I don't use public transportation, because the city is quit small it is easy to walk everything.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Helsinki?

Kaiku.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Helsinki?

Bar no 9 or Naughty BRGR.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Johannes church and Soumalina.
