Erasmus Experience in Helsinki, Finland by Karen
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I receive around 200 euros per month, just for grocery and transportation, and few entertainment (clubs, bars), once or twice per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Helsinki?
It isn't cheap at all, but there are different ways to save some money.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Helsinki to other students?
Of course, studying here will be one of the best experience you'll ever have!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Helsinki?
It kinda costed me, so I recommend Antti Korppi Student house, 420 euros per month, good location, and basic stuff is around, like a bus stop, and a grocery store.
How much does it cost to live in Helsinki?
700 euros as minimum, at least for me!
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Helsinki?
I recommend going to DTM, a gay night club.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Helsinki?
It's better to cook at home!
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Helsinki in the future?
Do the grocery shopping at Lidl.
Before partying, have drinks at home.
Be always on time for the bus.
Enjoy!
