What is the student lifestyle like in Guadalajara?

Guadalajara has a lot of educational offerings so many Mexican students go there to study and many others come from another countries. So that becomes Guadalajara a great place to meet people and make friends.

How much does it cost to live in Guadalajara?

It is affordable. And like in other places it depends on the area of the city you decide to live in and also on what kind of apartment/house you're looking for. But if you don't have a big budget you can always share your room with roomies.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Guadalajara? Is there any advice you can give?

The distances are quite long sometimes, so I recommend you to look for a place that has a bus stop near by. There's always a lot of places for rental with signs or you can search on the internet (That's how I found a place once) or ask your school for help with that.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I think Guadalajara is one of the best places to eat in Mexico. All the food is delicious!

You have to try the torta ahogada, tacos de barbacoa and my favorites birria y carne en su jugo. All of them are amazing!

What places would you recommend visiting in Guadalajara?

You have to visit El Centro de Guadalajara and its cathedral, it's really beautiful; el Teatro Degollado, El Hospicio Cabañas and the Expiatorio. All of them are in the city.

If you want to go out and enjoy the places near by you can always go to Tequila, Tapalpa, Mazamitla or if you are craving for a beach go to Puerto Vallarta, La riviera de Nayarit o Manzanillo (that's in Colima, but it's a few hours away).

Being a big city, Guadalajara has a lot of international and local food. My favorite places are Las carnes Garibaldi, La Pastería and La Birriería el Chololo.

Is the nightlife good in Guadalajara? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is really good!

It depends on what you like but there's discos with all kinds of music, bars with electronic music or a classic Cantina.
