What is it like to live in Guadalajara? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's having both a big city and a small one at the same time. Guadalajara has around 6 million people so it can be chaotic, but somehow still has some of the quite vibe of a small town. The wethear is always nice and warm, even during winter.

What is the student lifestyle like in Guadalajara?

The student lifestyle is quite entertaining and busy, there are a few big universities so there's always a lots of new students coming in. Furthermore, the city offers a huge agenda of cultural events.

How much does it cost to live in Guadalajara?

That depends of the lifestyle you're wishing to pursue. Rents can go from 100€ to 300€ for a private room.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Guadalajara? Is there any advice you can give?

It is absolutely not hard at all. My advice would be to look for places that are only offered to students and contact the students that live there already. Like this you'll make sure you won't have problems with the landlord or your future roomies.

There are also organizations like conexión gdl or intégrate that work directly with schools and offer accommodation for foreign students, in big houses where there's always a party going on.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many typical dishes: Tortas ahogadas, carne en su jugo, menudo, pozole, flautas, tacos de canasta, barbacoa, birria, tamales (try the ones from the place just next to templo expiatorio)....

Some drinks: tejuino, tuba and micheladas.
