What is it like to live in Guadalajara? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Pretty awesome! It is a city that combines classic Mexican traditions like Mariachi and Tequila, with the modern life, like big malls, fantastic night clubs, etc.

What is the student lifestyle like in Guadalajara?

Pretty relaxed, a perfect city for students. Good universities, fantastic night life, big malls.

How much does it cost to live in Guadalajara?

It's pretty cheap compared to Europe or Australia.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Guadalajara? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is actually really easy. Normally around the campuses are houses of students renting rooms.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is great! It is typical Mexican food like tacos, pozole, enchiladas, etc. But also Guadalajara is a pretty big city, there are lots of restaurants with international food, plus some other world wide brands like Red Lobster and Olive Garden, you can easily find what to eat. But I definitely prefer mexican dishes like tacos.

What places would you recommend visiting in Guadalajara?

Is it good to eat out in Guadalajara? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

The best places to eat are the small spots on the street where you can buy tacos for really really cheap prices. But if you are in the mood for a fancy dinner, you can go to Providencia street, it's full of classy restaurants or perhaps you can just go to a mall to the food court.

Is the nightlife good in Guadalajara? Where is good to go?

Pretty good, there are tons of places, there is a street named Chapu, full of hipsterish bars, also nightclubs are pretty cool, there are several bars and restaurants definitely awesome!

What advice would you give future students heading to Guadalajara?

Come ready to have fun! you will really enjoy Guadalajara, it's a very relaxed city, fun, young, open minded, full of traditions, lots of parties - so get ready for that.

It's not a dangerous city.

The city is well located geographically so get ready to travel around the west coast of Mexico plus it is pretty close to some of the other cities like Guanajuato.
