What is it like to live in Groningen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Groningen is a great city to live in for a student. There is an amazing amount of students and basically, the entire city is about students. The vibe is relaxed and there are many things to do and see. If I'd had the choice I would choose it again.

What is the student lifestyle like in Groningen?

Perfect, you can do whatever you like, there are many many parties and bars to go to but you can also chill and do cultural things if you would prefer that.

How much does it cost to live in Groningen?

Accommodation is about 350, groceries are not cheap but not ridiculously pricey either. Eating out can be cheap if you go for special 'dag-happen' for students. Drinks can also be cheap if you use the buy one get one free hour.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Groningen? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not easy but definitely possible to find it. In entire Holland the site kamernet.nl is a good way to find (temporary) accommodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can get anything you like here, but try 'stamppot'!

What places would you recommend visiting in Groningen?

There are just so many. Climb the Martini Tower, go to the Groningen Museum, go to the Noorderplantsoen with your own picnic basket and chill with the students.

Is it good to eat out in Groningen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Definitely, you can go from expensive to cheap and everything in between. Cheap is, for instance, Drie Gezusters (daghap), a bit more expensive but nice are the Mexican restaurant at the Vismarkt or Humphrey's.

Is the nightlife good in Groningen? Where is good to go?

Always a fun time in Groningen. Go to the bars in de Poelestraat and you will definitely have a great time. For a bit more clubbing-vibe there are 'Enzo' and 'Kokomo'.

What advice would you give future students heading to Groningen?

Have fun!
