Fairytale alpine ski resort

Published by flag-ro Diana Mocanu — 10 years ago

Situated some 30 km from Grenoble, on one of the three sorrounding mountains, the peak named Belledonne, at more than 1300 metre altitude and reaching almost 2500 in its highest mountain top, this alpine ski resort is one of seven of its kind in the vecinity of the urbanised area of Grenoble.

It is a small resort or not more than 500 inhabitans, of which the majority only reside in the area a few weeks a year in the ski season. It has two levels, several ski slopes for all levels and preferences and even cable cars to reach the top, with a panoramic restaurant and a view reaching all the way to the glacial valley of Grenoble.

The selection of services offered is complete, with the possibility of renting all pieces of equipment necessary, having a delicious local meal, great transportation around and between these facilities, lodging, specialised personnel on the move all day and night and lovely souvenirs to satisfy each one's heart desire.

Aside from the spectacular views and the posibility of experiencing snow until late may, you can always run into some famous ski star or find yourself on the hopefully not so unlucky footsteps of such residents as Michael Schumacker.

The easiest way to Chamrousse is by a cheap bus trip from Grenoble, passing through a series of enchating alpine villages on the way, home of some famous sites for the connaiseurs in what concerns nobility, gardens and palaces.

A lovely way to spend a day if you ask me and an even lovelier way to spend your hypothetical money for both an enriching and a relaxing experience. Enjoy!
