What is it like to live in Grenoble? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Beautiful city in the middle of the Alps and other massives like Vercors.
Visit the city centre, go to the Bastille, first time walking and then running. Also there are a lot of spots and lakes close to Grenoble city.
What is the student lifestyle like in Grenoble?
A lot of students, from France a from Erasmus also. You have the possiblity to practise any kind of sport.
You can share appartments in live in the centre and there is a huge campus with all the universities, easy to study and eat there.
How much does it cost to live in Grenoble?
For a student between 500 and 1000 euros monthly, depending if you share home or not.
You can get some "helps" to pay the university and there are "students housings" in the campus and in the city centre.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Grenoble? Is there any advice you can give?
I recommend to start looking for it in march/april if you plan to go in september. You can find student housing or look by yourself.
Always have with you all your documents and certificate as student.
The lanlord will ask you to have a guarantor.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Really good one of the best in France you can try: gratin dauphinois, raclette, tartiflette, les ravioles, cheese Saint-Marcellin, cheese Tomme de Savoie...

Yes, small bar and clubs in the city centre close Notre Dame square.
You have to try les bars à Rhums.
What advice would you give future students heading to Grenoble?
Be well ready at the financial aspect in order to get an apartment easier, with a valuable garant.
Take care by night, don´t get out alone, because it´s a bit risky sometimes depending on where you go.
