Erasmus Experience in Granada, Spain by Valentina
Would you recommend the city and the University of Granada to other students?
Yes, the city is really beautiful and is a lovely place to live, while the university can be a little disorganized, especially regarding welcoming international students.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Granada?
No, it didn't. I only paid once I found the place where I wanted to live.
How much does it cost to live in Granada?
The life cost (rent, food, entertainment, etc. ) is really cheap compared to other European cities.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Granada from your city?
From the centre/north of Italy, the easiest way is by plane, of course. There are two main different routes, flight Milan - Granada is the more convenient because you land directly in the city, otherwise flight Bologna - Malaga is not too bad, but you need to take a 2-hour bus from Malaga to reach Granada. I've also heard about a flight from Pisa to Sevilla, but apparently, there is no direct bus from Sevilla to Granada so I've never tried it as it would be more complicated to change buses with heavy baggage.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Alhambra of course, Sacromonte Abbey, Granada Cathedral, Hospital Real (which also has the best library to study), Albayzin, Mirador San Nicolas and Mirador San Cristobal.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Granada in the future?
During winter, Granada gets colder that one could guess (even though it is located in the south of Spain) and it can be very rainy between winter and spring time.
