Why did you choose to go to Granada, Spain?
The city is very cheap and Erasmus friendly. The weather is better than on the North of Spain. Very important factor is that there is sea nearby and Sierra Nevada for skiing. University of Granada is known as a good university which is the other reason why I chose this city.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship lasted one semester and I got about 270 euros/month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Granada?
Granada is a perfect city for Erasmus students. There are a lot of them. Many clubs are directly for Erasmus students. ESN is an organisation that does a great job organizing many events and trips for Erasmus students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Granada to other students?
Yes.
What is the food like?
The greatest things in Granada are tapas. These are snacks or meals which are given extra when you buy a drink in a pub. About food generally, people in Granada eat paellas (rice with vegetables and etc. ), gazpacho, sea food, tortillas de patatas, but you can find other food as well.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Granada?
No.
How much does it cost to live in Granada?
Depends. I used to spend 10 euros/day.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?
Yes, there are. The most known is in Centro de Lenguas Modernas and many Erasmus students go there, I did as well.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Granada from your city?
The best way is to go from Wrocław to Malaga by plane and then take a bus to Granada.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Granada?
To El Camborio.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Alhambra.
Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Granada?
Be careful choosing your flatmates.
