Erasmus experience in Granada, Spain by Ilaria
Why did you decide to go to Granada in Spain?
Because of the Arabic architecture that you find in Spain, especially in the South.
How long do you receive the grant for? How much financial aid do you receive?
I receive a grant up until the end of February, but I only receive around 230 euros a month, and that doesn't even cover all the bills.
What's student life like in Granada?
Absolutely great! Everyone is very friendly and open.
Would you recommend the city, and the University of Granada to other students?
Yes, although it's important to say that it's completely different compared to university life in Northern Italy.
What's the food like?
Tapas are perfect.
Has it been difficult to find accommodation in Granada?
No, although it's better to come and see the apartments/flats.
How much does it cost to live in Granada?
Very little, you can go out to eat with 5 euros.
How do you find the language? Have you attended any courses at University to help with it?
No, I haven't attended any courses, and for us Italians, Spanish is really easy.
What's the cheapest way to get to Granada from where you live?
Fly to Malaga, and then get a bus from there.
What places would you recommend going to in the evening in Granada?
The Plaza de Toros (Bullring) and the centre.
When it comes to eating in Granada, could you tell us your favourite places to have dinner
La Boteguida in the Chana district of the town is the best.
What are the best cultural sights?
The Alhambra, and the entire city!
Any advice you'd give to future students in Granada?
Meditate before you leave.
