Erasmus Experience in Granada, Spain by Cláudia
Why did you choose to go to Granada, Spain?
Granada was a convenient choice, I had contacts here and it was a city I already knew.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Granada to other students?
Granada is a mesmerizing city, it exceeded all my expectations and I feel so in love with it. I would highly recommend coming here, it is a very eventful faculty, with several courses you can take and activities. They say once you come here you won’t want to leave.
What is the food like?
Most commonly, people go for tapas at bars, so you ask for a drink and a small portion of food, some places let you choose others don’t, food can be from all over the world. But in Granada you can find a lot of Arab food.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Granada?
La sitarilla, but honestly I didn’t eat on one bad restaurant.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
So many things, obvious one, Alhambra, but also there are so many things to visit, there’s a bunch of churches, museums a lot of places free of charge.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Granada in the future?
On Friday nights there’s a program that takes you on a tour around the city and tells you about its history, each Friday is different and it’s free. On Saturday there’s kinda the same program but across nature and it’s so fun! These activities don’t exist all year long, so make sure you follow the ayuntamiento pages to get information.
