Granada is one of the most preferred cities among European students
Granada is a first class tourist destination. In fact, the Alhambra is one of most visited monuments in Spain. Along with this, the monumental Granada combines the charm of a dynamic city with an exceptional environment for young people. The sierra Nevada is within such close proximity, with its international ski resort and with the sea so nearby. These are the things that make Granada such a wonderful place. All of this contributes to the University of Granada who welcomes 5, 000 University students each year, many of them in the Erasmus programme.

Why do Erasmus students choose the University of Granada?
The University of Granada is one of the biggest Universities in Spain where more than 70, 000 pupils study. The University offers a wide variety of degrees, more than 270 in fact, and it has signed more than 800 international collaboration agreements.
Granada is therefore an excellent city for students. Tourists can also enjoy this exceptional environment.
There are many excellent places to eat tapas, for example, in the 'Plaza de toros' area, the old Jewish quarter of 'Realejo' or the 'Zaidin' area which is near the health sciences University campus. Everyday, these areas become popular meeting places for students who live alongside the residents and tourists.

The city of Granada
In addition to having a University with such international prestige, the Erasmus students also have some of the cheapest accommodation and maintenance in Granada.
On the other hand, food in Granada has an excellent reputation and the places to eat tapas are very popular amongst students for their quality and their good prices.
Without a doubt, its monumental area does not leave the students bored. To be able to live in the city of the Alhambra, to be very close to such emblematic neighbourhoods, to visit the cathedral or to wander through the charming streets, is surely a great experience for students.
There are many places to party in Granada. The city has areas with pubs, for example those in the Alarcón area, Pedro Antonio street to be precise. There are also many different clubs, all of different styles. Also, many people opt for the 'botellón' and meet somewhere which is known as 'botellódromo'.

Because of this and many other reasons, many Erasmus students decide to extend their stay for a few days once they have finished their studies. This makes the city one of Spain's most preferred cities to study, according to European students.
