How much does it cost to live in Ghent?

accommodations offered by the university are around 150 euros, which is not that much at all. A nice room on a nice location however will cost you around 300 euros. For a studio you'll pay 350 or more. The university offers cheap meals as well, max 4 euros. In the university neighborhood there are some cheap restaurants (spaghettis for 9 euros etc.) If you want to meat Gent's quality cuisine, you'll have to go to the city center and it'll cost you a lot more.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ghent?

SMAK, museum for modern art; graslei, during summer its full with people hanging around along the riverside; Patershol is very nice to have dinner or lunch, it has all kinds of typical places with unusual cuisines;...

Is it good to eat out in Ghent? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Mosquito Coast is absolutely my favorite. It's a travel restaurant, but you can go there just for having a drink too. It has a beautiful setting.

Is the nightlife good in Ghent? Where is good to go?

St-Jacobs neighborhood, a lot of bands play there in little pubs; Overpoortstraat with clubs where you can dance.. its quite legendary
