Ghent is a great place to live, lots of events going on, lots of culture. It's big enough to get all you need, but small enough to get to know the whole city.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ghent?
Especially being an art student in Ghent is amazing, there are so many artistic collaborations and events, places to listen to good music, concerts, museums, theatre,...
How much does it cost to live in Ghent?
For European lifestyle I guess we're in the middle of cost, studying in Belgium, Ghent might be a bit more expensive than the other cities, but not a big difference.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ghent? Is there any advice you can give?
There are some restrictions on hiring in Belgium in general that might be slightly more difficult to find a suiting place. I guess you should start early and not only go on websites. Maybe find a 'gent te huur' Facebook group or walk around in the city looking for signs.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Belgium in general doesn't have the greatest traditional dishes, but we do have a lot of options from other countries, you can find lots of different stuff in the supermarkets and there are some great vegetarian or vegan restaurants in Ghent.
What places would you recommend visiting in Ghent?

Try going out of the city as well, the 'suburbs' are great and have some amazing surprises for culture ànd nature
